A Heroic Week!
Good Morning Zuggies,
I hope everyone got the chance to sleep in and enjoyed some much deserved rest.
As a raid leader, one of my essential responsibilities is to correct errors to ensure progression. However, sometimes this fixation on what’s wrong doesn’t always leave enough time to talk about what’s right. And this week was one of truly heroic deeds.
First, House of Zug is now seven of ten heroic in Blackrock Foundry!!! All seven kills this week were completed with near perfect execution and in only five hours of raiding! (We ended early both nights.) Only three bosses await our Ahead of the Curve goal and meta achievement Gron mounts.
I also want to highlight a few people this week as well who really stepped up in a big way.
As we all know, Rhyxi had to leave the game rather suddenly, leaving Kadre with some big shoes to fill. But as a fellow tank, I cannot describe how much of a pleasure it was to have him at my side. Kadre was vocal and strategic on every encounter. He knew his role, asked excellent questions, and made great suggestions. Each time he made an error, he whispered me his plan to correct it before I could even figure out that he had made an error.
Moreover, Kadre’s Friday Night Flex has been overflowing with participation and generated several promising new guildies. Last night, we cleared 8 bosses in three hours, including a 4-shot on Iron Maidens, a boss we have never seen!!! What’s more, Kadre’s first concern after the raid was that he did not thank Det and the guys from Lake Effect for attending. This humility and sense of responsibility is exactly the kind of attitude at the heart of the Kor’Kron.
Although I obviously miss Rhyxi and Tedler quite a bit and hope they return to the team (perhaps as dps), I am extremely excited to be tanking with Kadre going forward and have every confidence in his continued dedication and exemplary leadership.
But that’s not the only glorious occurrence of the week. Taliyahna broke the 25th percentile mark for the first time in Blackrock Foundry with an astounding 39th percentile on our very first Kromag kill (#1 spot on the damage meter)!
Tali came into this expansion a complete novice to raiding: keyboard turner, clicker, you name it! But her unyielding dedication to improving really paid off this week when something “just clicked.” Tali has been working with me almost every day, running LFRs and Normals for no loot and recording logs to compare to top hunters. Moreover, Tali’s survivability improved over 300% from her one-month average on Tuesday. I am excited to watch her continue to grow in the coming weeks of progression. (Btw, how does a hunter learn to focus? A cataclysmic mana-cure! Seriously though, she actually got a manicure to help with raiding!)
Biz...where do I even start. Despite his crazy antics and odd cheers, it’s hard not to notice when a chart looks like this. Biz has been steadily making progress on every fight as he masters his class to the tune of whatever ungodly ruckus he listens to while he raids.
However, more than his tremendous numbers, I think Biz is a shining example how a new member can make a long-standing impact on a community. I think House of Zug has become a more fun environment while maintaining it’s serious focus on progression, largely as a result of this insane man. His chants and quotes remind us of why we play this game: to have fun and make friends! And I think our community owes him special recognition for the contribution he continues to make on our community.
Last, I would like to give a special thanks to Radulov for accepting my offer to become Guild Quartermaster in Rhyxi’s stead. Rad may have started out in this community on the quiet side, but there are few who do not know him now. His dedication to the team is unparalleled, and his suggestions are always strategic and well-considered. Thank you for assisting with this incredibly important responsibility, and I really hope I get to meetup with Rad at Blizzcon!
I’m sure there are a dozen other names that deserve special recognition (Thralle is one that comes to mind for saving our butts on Heroic: Operator last week), so I will have to make it up with time.
I am incredibly proud to be a part of this fantastic community, and I cannot wait for Tuesday!!!!
Have a wonderful weekend Zuggies,
Best,

Well thank you Bar. Sadly no Blizzcon for me this year haha. Already planning one convention based trip this year and dont have the cash for two as much as I would love to go so I will be streaming it again.
Bummer, but that totally makes sense.
